1992 Pontiac LeMans SE review from North America
"Give this car 16V Euro option and leather and it would be the only good GM in North America"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head gasket or head failure (coolant routes).
Driver side caliper seizure.
Engine check light comes on for no apparent reason.
Strange rattling sound when engine is not warmed up (I will be looking to fix exhaust seal)
Sway bar rusted and broke (the fault of Canadian and US stupidity with road salt) It is toxic, ruins our cars and is the reason for 80% of our car costs...don't we feel really stupid now!
General comments?
If Pontiac didn't screw this car like they did to their entire product line and just put the Opel 16V 150bhp engine in like this car has in Europe and South Africa rather than the Daewoo 1.6 weed whacker engine that is for Canadian/US, then the other crap on their lots would never sell because this car would be it forever. Add a buttery soft leather option and they would have to recycle their plastic cup holder and crappy Grey bubble button ergonomics that the rest of their product line sports. Need I say more...
