1986 SAAB 900 Base review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
During 139,000 miles, only the water pump, tires and battery had been replaced. Biggest expense has been with the air conditioner. No car has ever provided more reliable, safe service.
General comments?
The only factor possibly keeping me from buying another new SAAB is price. My SAAB cost $13,000 new back in '86, and price of same base model has risen an average of $1,000 US per year, far exceeding inflation rate, cost of living index, or average annual income per capita increase. Simply, most European cars are pricing themselves out of the market, are not cars for the "working class".
