1984 Nissan 2 X 4 Truck review from Australia and New Zealand
"A fantastic family car that will take you anywhere!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The fuel carburettor clogged up with dirty fuel.
The suspension needed replacing at 250000kms.
The clutch hydraulics busted and worn down at 270000kms.
The front bull-bar gradually started to loosen after long periods of time.
Engine once leaked on a long trip and used up fuel like there was no tomorrow.
It has very stiff stearing.
Exhaust system pipes broke loose at 265000kms.
General comments?
The Nissan Navara is a great family car and served my family well for many years.
It is very reliable, the engine is fantastic and goes forever, but everything else seems to be more fragile.
It is a car that will go anywhere that a car can possibly go, and in the wild, the car just seems to love being engaged in 4X4.
It has low torque, but plenty of power in 4L when needed.
It is a comfortable car to drive and although the seats and fabric are cheap, they are very good for long trips with the kin.
Not very cheap to run... About 6kms to the litre.
302000 k's and still soldiering on with no mechanical troubles!
