1992 Ford Taurus review from North America
"An absolutely reliable car with great performance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The alternator went at 150,000 klm.
Gas tank starting leaking at 190,000 klm (only when tank filled to rim)
Rad starting leaking at 198,000.
General comments?
This car was amazing (now in her resting place)
I drove a minimum of 120klms a day. Never did she let me down.
Very fast acceleration- easy to pass.
Extremely comfortable. The large fabric seats were great. Being that the car was of larger size there was little road sound.
Lots of room for 5 passengers.
Unfortunely the body went before the engine. I never had any repairs done on the mechanical side. She never hesitated even during the coldest months. Sturdy to drive on winter roads always giving me a sense of security.
I only paid $400.00 for the car and at most put in $1000.00 over two years. These repairs I believe were normal maintenance and not serious.
One day driving to work she literally got me to the front door and the rad finally blew. The body was shot - it was time to move on but it was sad to say "good-bye".
