1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera review from North America

A bearing went out at 300,000 miles and caused a fire in the alternator, melting the plastic and a belt.

The stereo is temperamental, it goes on and off when it wants to. Like there is a short somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it in the few years that I have driven it.

Door handles break easily and so do the ash tray rails.

Not much else has gone wrong with the car, the gas mileage isn't very good, it guzzles gas like there is no tomorrow. I fill up the tank ($23) every Sunday.

When I received this car it was free and in very bad shape - it ran rough, the car smoked and the brakes were bad. I made a few minor adjustments in the motor, changed the brake pads and all the life came back to the car. It is the quietest car I have ever had the pleasure of driving. It runs beautifully. I am amazed at how long this car has lasted and hope for many more years to come.

I like how this car can get up to speed, with a slight touch of the gas pedal. Would be a good car for drag racing (don't get any ideas). Right now I am looking at a 1992 Cutlass Ciera Oldsmobile, with 50,000 miles on a rebuilt.

These are seriously great cars, they are safe, reliable, and easy to maneuver! You deserve a Cutlass Ciera Oldsmobile.
