1990 Citroen BX 16RE review from Turkey
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I am the second owner of the car.
Engine and valves are measured and rebuilt, it has a pinging problem on low rpm's before and after rebuild, for example on 2k rpm when I press the pedal it pings. I tried almost everything, including timing advance, with cold type spark plugs pinging seems better.
General comments?
It's one of the best long distance cars ever built, if it has an A/C it's the best I know of (including Cadillacs). For inner city and crowded traffic driving an AX or Saxo type smaller car is recommended. Even gear sizes fit for long distance trips IMHO. Most of the US city roads don't count, you can drive at its best on US city roads (Except like NYNY and LA downtown).
