1987 Holden Commodore sl (Wagon) review from Australia and New Zealand
"Mad wagon that you can sleep in, and race!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear drivers side door lock mechanism broken hard to unlock (you needed to put a finger behind the lock with the door trim off).
Bent the panhard rod/right axle, destroyed the rear right tyre and wheel, demolished the drum and buckled the axle housing in a gutter mishap, all fixed.
Ripped half of the front bumper off in a rally driving misjudgement.
Blown the modified air intake manifold off a few times, due to the more free flowing manifold being stiffer, now fixed for good.
Some friendly locals put two nice long scratches on the roof and tailgate, not easy to match a custom 2pack purple, but I have and am preparing the car for a bodykit and partial respray.
Attracts way too much attendion from the local boys in blue, I have been pulled over at least 10 times in 6 months with 3 rubbish infringement notices.
General comments?
Hammers, 4 speed shift kitted auto mauls most manuals, descent 2 1/4 inch free flowing exhaust with extractors.
Cold air intake.
2pack purple on the lowered wagon with fats at the back and a nice note from the stereo and exhaust.
Soon to be turboed, have basically new worked engine on the way with a t04 turbo and big cooler on their way, with new diff (9 inch) and brakes (vx commodore).
