1991 Citroen AX GT review from UK and Ireland
"One of the better hot hatches out there"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Car was bought as project so following faults :-
Replaced entire braking system, pads/disc's, fitted braided hoses.
Fitted new starter motor & ignition barrel.
Replaced the ball joint which popped out, and destroyed the sill (now fixed) main reason why car was so cheap (£50)
Minor electrical earth fault.
General comments?
You can't knock these cars really, as this is the second AX GT I've owned and generally they are pretty reliable for a silly little french car!
Performance wise, extremely quick for a 1400, and will easily outperform xr2's/nova sr's and is on a par with gte/gsi.
These cars are a great introduction into hot hatch heaven, cheap to buy and nice to modify, the only problems these cars have are poor brakes, and crap biuld quality.
Apart from that I highly recommend you try one out, you'll be surprised!!
