1986 Jeep Comanche x review from North America
"- fairly reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Idle speed motor (IDA motor)
oxygen sensor
exhaust system
water pump
rubber hoses
radiator fan
fuel injector
transmission
universal joints at front wheels
clutch master cylinder
steering damper
pinion shaft yolk
track bar.
General comments?
-The 2.5-liter FI is slow, slow and slow. When you floor the gas pedal the engine makes a lot of noise, but you can hardly feel it moving. When traveling up hill, the engine struggles to maintain the vehicle speed even though the gas pedal is floored. Top speed is only 120 km/hr. Passing power is nil. It's so slow that at times it's dangerous if you try to pass a car on a 2 lane highway.
-Noisy in the cabin.
-Parts are expensive (eg. pinion shaft yolk- $600)
