2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS review from North America
"A durable SUV that is well worth the minor problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brake pads had to be replaced 3 times.
Has a severe vibration in the steering wheel that an alignment will not fix.
There is a rattle coming from the glove compartment that started at 35000 miles.
Dashboard brake light stays on all the time due to defective sensor.
Transmission does not shift smoothly from first to second gear when cold.
General comments?
This car is underpowered and the factory brakes will not last to 20000 miles.
Interior of vehicle is excellently designed and holds up well.
I regularly drive on very rough, unpaved roads near the ocean and this vehicle has held up very well to the rough terrain and salt air.
