1999 Chevrolet Malibu LX review from North America
"Great car... some bugs!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brake pads, rotors have been changed twice in the last 18 months.
Ignition switch was replaced.
Driver seat re-built twice and replaced once.
ABS lights keep coming on during cold weather. Problem can't be duplicated by the dealer. I live in Fairbanks AK.
Battery failed and no obvious reason was found. Car in the garage at 60 F. When the car was parked in -10 no problems came up.
My engine was replaced at 33,000. Cylinder walls were "scored". The replaced engine is louder than the factory installed unit. I now have an oil drip from an unknown location.
General comments?
I am pleased with my Malibu even with its problems. I like the looks, the space and economy for its size.
It would be nice if Chevrolet fixes the problems with the rotors/bakes.
