1999 Nissan Terrano II Ti review from Australia and New Zealand
"A reliable work horse / tow vehicle, that is also comfortable for the family"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I haven't had any extraordinary problems so far luckily.
The tape deck has jammed and was replaced under warranty.
The rear bumper mount on the left hand side broke at about 90000kms.
General comments?
The car has stood up well to 110000km's of both highway travel, and travel on unsealed roads.
The interior seats and upholstery are still in "as new" condition, however it was necessary to fit sheepskin seat covers for comfort as the seat trim is not very plush.
Fuel economy is quite good for a mid-sized 4x4. I get about 10L/100km on the highway, and about 12L/100km in the city.
I use my vehicle for boat towing too. The boat and trailer weigh in at around 2000kgs, and the vehicle handles it like a dream. Fuel consumption is about 18L/100kms towing at about 95kmh.
I would prefer the ability to use low range in 2wd for hauling up steep concrete boat ramps (due to wind up in the front diff because of the high grip surface).
