1997 Peugeot 306 GTi 6 review from UK and Ireland
"Wonderful to drive, just watch that cam-belt!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Small leak in aerial allowed rainwater in, damaging remote alarm sensor. Required reseal and new sensor approx £80 total.
Cam-belt snapped at 52000 miles!!!
Peugeot recommends replacement after 72000 miles. Cost approx £2400 with Peugeot paying 30% of that.
General comments?
This car is fantastic fun to drive and the performance is superb.
However Changing the Cam-belt at half the recommended mileage is a must as Peugeot have got it wrong. I think they have based their estimations on a basic 306. Shame they know so little about their own cars.
