1999 Peugeot 106 Zest 2 review from UK and Ireland
"Never, ever again will I buy a Peugeot"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Broken into with great ease. This is the manufacturers fault as there is no door lock protection.
I drove through a puddle and the car would not start again. Peugeot dealers then proceeded to charge me £130 for "essential" EMU maintenance work.
The carburettor controller started to go after about 20000 miles. I was determined to find out the cause of the problem myself as I was adamant I was not going to pay Peugeot's overpriced service prices. After much investigation I found out that it is an ongoing problem with these cars which Peugeot has forgot to tell buyers (this came from a Peugeot employee).
Seals around windows were bad.
The sunroof leaked.
General comments?
The car is nippy for a 1.1.
I did everything I could to try and love the car.
I would never buy from Peugeot again as their parts and service team and possibly some of the most unhelpful (unless you let them hook the car up to a machine first. Which costs you £85 +VAT before you even get to the problem) group of people I have ever dealt with.
