1983 Mercedes-Benz S-Class 380SEC review from North America
"My childhood dream"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Top part of radiator broke.
Timing chain was replaced $2000.
Brakes rotors and pads.
Front end was rebuilt, balljoints etc.
Shocks renewed.
Some lightbulbs went out on dashboard.
Mileage reset switch/dimer was replaced.
Trans ignition unit replaced - $725.
General comments?
The car has been wonderful to drive, but
fairly expensive to repair.
After almost 20 years the mentioned repairs are normal.
There are still some problems with the fuel injectors or the fuel distributor unit.
It is a great daily driver.
