1999 Seat Ibiza S review from UK and Ireland
"A great looking car that is let down with faults"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The rear exhaust was blowing when I received the car from a main dealer. Many trips where required because of an inept dealer.
The front brakes knocked.
The wiper blades where split when I picked the car up.
The rear wash wipe sticks all the time.
The front exhaust pipe had split requiring the cat replaced.
After having the rear wiper examined the hatch rattles and squeaks, which drives me insane.
The front brake disks required renewing.
The radio/heater display was replaced.
General comments?
The seat Ibiza is well built and feels solid, but I have been disappointed by the dealership that I purchased the car from.
I have added 15 inch alloys and now it rides and handles better.
It is not as nice to drive as my previous 1998 fiesta, but it has improved build quality.
It is not too expensive to run and after taking the car to another more sympathetic dealer most of the cars problems have been resolved.
The seat Ibiza is a rare sight and with my new alloys it looks very nice. I have received many admiring comments from colleagues.
