1996 Citroen Xantia LX review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Glow plugs were my first major expense
cost £120 for supply and fit by my Citroen dealer. I traveled 100miles a day for nearly 3 years and the car broke down twice. Clutch cable broke which is a common fault followed by the
throttle cable. The usual things have been replaced during my 5 year ownership
that is exhaust, tyres and battery. I replaced the alternator 2 years ago which was a major job. The main dealer wanted over £400 to replace, but I managed to get a replacement fitted for £100. I have just had my radiator replaced. Citroen wanted £450 in total which included anti freeze at £15.00 and distilled water?? at £5.50. Again I shopped around and got a new radiator fitted for £150.00. I would definitely have a another newer model. I really love the comfort etc. The cam belt is now due for its second renewal on 148,000 and I'm a bit worried how much longer I dare leave it maybe someone can comment.
