2002 Fiat Marea HLX Saloon 4dr review from Brazil
"Look, but don't touch!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
One day after I got the car, I heard a very loud noise coming from right rear wheel; immediatally I took the car to the dealer and I the service identified a defect on the inferior part of the wheel, so they change the wheel.
One week after buying the car, I heard many noises coming form the front suspension, once more time I took the car to the dealer service and they said was nothing, but the noisy still continued and I sold the car with this problem.
Three weeks of buying the car I found one more problem: noises coming from the dash.
One month of buying seat base replaced, faulty and causing noisy, also the front speakers broken.
Two months of buying appeared some noises and knockings from undefined parts of the car specially on bad roads.
Four months of buying I found another problem of the car: oil leaks.
General comments?
Think twice before to buy a FIAT!
They made very poor quality cars as the dealers services. Most of the things wrong in the car came already from the manufacturer and most of the times I went to the dealers they said "the it's normal" but it wasn't normal. Why with them the car, was normal and with me it was not normal? Also they collect a very expensive price for a badly service.
I stayed 5 months with the car, and he gave me the triple of the defects of my prevoius car (a CHEVROLET ASTRA GLS SEDAN 2.0 MPFI) gave me in two years of ownership.
Ah, one more thing: if you think this car has a very good performance, unfortunatelly I should say this engine is terrible, it's a sluggish gas guzzler, noisy in high speeds and in low rotations doesn't have a lot power.
Comfort? Forget it!
If I got another car form FIAT after the MAREA? No, but I returned to buy GM Car's and now I'am a very happy owner of a CHEVROLET ZAFIRA 2.0 16V.
