2001 Peugeot 307 XSi review from UK and Ireland
"Performance Pig in the Poke"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Unable to open boot due to faulty lid switch. Dealer cleared fault on diagnostics, only for fault to return time and time again. Dealer finally replaced switch and handle.
Indicator switch failing to hold on at a right hand turn. The switch was replaced under warranty, but still has the same problem, dealer is looking into matter still.
Car was recalled for the ignition switch to get replaced.
Electric windows failed to close when alarm activated, dealer had to put onto diagnostics to clear, but fault still occurs frequently no faults can be determined I am told.
At 10500 miles catalyst and anti-pollution faults appeared on screen and K light was flashing, returned to dealer who put car onto diagnostics faults were recorded on engine ECU, these were cleared by dealer only to return less than 1000 miles later. Dealer checked out again this time no faults were recorded on ECU, they managed to clear the display and put out the K light again, only for the fault to return between the sevice bay and the collection point. Car is currently still running with faults as Peugeot UK are currently awaiting info from France.
General comments?
The car is a joy to drive when there is no faults, but the faults tend to get you frustrated and angry, especially when you have spent a lot of money on what was supposed to be a reliable car, not a patch on my previous 306.
How can it be classed as European car of the year??? with as many faults as it has had.
