1994 Ford F150 XLT review from North America

Replaced starter at 120,000.

Replaced alternator at 180,000.

Replaced Air Conditioner (Condenser, Compressor, Accumulator) at 180,000.

Have had to replace rotors about every 75,000, front pads about 25,000.

Replaced factory EGR valve at 250,000.

Replaced factory shocks at 250,000.

Replaced water pump at 260,000.

Replaced factory O2 sensor at 270,000.

Rear gas tank added gas to front gas tank when running on the rear tank, problem began about 240,000 miles, corrected itself about 270,000 after adding fuel system cleaners at oil changes.

Replaced universal joints twice, about 180,000 and at 280,000.

Part of the dash lights quit working at 250,000.

Lower drivers door hinge had to be replaced due to wear at 270,000 miles and about 1 zillion times opening and closing.

Windshield wiper switch short since about 50,000, have to jiggle switch to find the "sweet spot". This is really the only annoyance I have had with this truck.

I purchased this truck new and have never had to return to the dealership for service on anything.

Aside from replacing rotating external pieces, have never had to do anything other than normal maintenance to this truck. It has never been 3500 miles without an oil change, and the filters, fluids and belts are changed regularly. I have never had a valve cover off, nor been inside the 4-speed Automatic OD transmission. You might think that the truck has not been worked, but I have towed a 2-horse trailer and a racecar regularly for the life of the truck, although I never pull anything while in overdrive.
