1995 Seat Cordoba CLX review from UK and Ireland
"Bargain isn't the word! Needs a few tweaks, but very quick given a few things!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head Gasket went at around 45,000 miles.
4 centre boxes went all covered by warranty.
Starter Motor Went at 60,000 miles.
Seats get stained by rain water terribly.
Both Brake cylinders went at 62,000 miles.
Windows always drop down on there own on the back doors.
General comments?
This car is quick if you give it some of the berries there is no doubt about it. Sticking on an Induction kit from Green Cotton or K&N really opens up another side of the car that you just wouldn't believe!
Car handles very well anyway, but I put a set of 15 inch alloys on there and now you can really really throw it into corners and it sticks like glue.
Insurance is really cheap because it's a family four door car.
The car is individual which is great, only thing is if you want to do it up. Parts like body kits etc are slightly more expensive.
It has the old VW Engine in it which is a really reliable engine. Only thing that has stopped me driving it was the starter motor in which case the one day it went I bumped the car!
Its my first car and I think it's a great car, it does have a lot of rattle and creaks, but if you turn up the sound system which is a really good standard system you can't hear it.
Get a performance exhaust and a induction kit you won't even hear the rattles they sound really nice.
The best advantage with it is that there is a lot more room in the back than the ford escort and the front has lots of room too. The boot is massive just go find one and take a look!
Nice engine to work on because it's a simple engine plenty of room in the engine bay to work on it.
Brakes aren't the best, but you will find that out and learn to compensate.
Nice spoiler on the back just to finish the car styling off.
With the 2.0 GTI model rolling in on a 1995 M plate for £1500 Bargain isn't the word those things are really really quick!
A fun loving car to drive I don't want to get rid of it and theres a few good sites to get stuff for em like central locking if yours hasn't got it or body kits etc etc.
If theres anyone out there who wants any more info on things like that I have pretty much found a lot of em and if I haven't got a site that does it I will have a good look for site for you email me with any queries or questions at.
