1983 Ford Fairmont Ghia review from Australia and New Zealand
"Quickest car at this price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Odometer needed fixing
rust on doors was cut out
brakes replaced
starter motor needed changing.
General comments?
Its very, comfortable and quick for a car of this age, it is faster then most holdens of its age (VH, VK, VL and even VN). I got this car for free off my parents, but you should be able to pick up good condition XE Ghias for around $3000
its very reliable and looks good with its ghia front lights and especially after a new respray.
It doesn't sound that good from the outside, but it has an awsome roar when inside the car.
It accelerates pretty quick getting to 80km/h in only 7.0 seconds and I've had it up to 170km/h and still going. Extreemly good for a 20 year old car
its only down point is its pretty thirsty on fuel in the city not averaging more than 5km per liter.
