1999 Dodge Durango SLT review from North America
"Quality for a bargain price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had all four window regulators replaced at different times. There was a TSB addressing this issue.
I had two factory batteries replaced then decided I would try an aftermarket.
I replaced factory battery with an Interstate and have not had a problem for two years.
General comments?
I have read other comments about sludge in these engines. I have replaced my oil every three thousand miles religiously and do not have any problems described.
I am a Service Manager at a Dodge dealership in Texas. It has been my experience that when an engine is sludged it is a result of lack of maintenance. I am regularly told by customers that they have there service done at ABC garage or that they do it themselves. When I ask for records they are never available. These are machines and require maintenance to survive. If I have a customer that can provide records indicating that they have followed the maintenance schedule and still have a catostrophic failure (Engine or Transmission) I have no problem "going to bat" for them. Contrary to popular belief most Dealerships do not care whether you pay for the repair or the manufacturer does.
Thank you Steven for letting me Post.
Randy.
