1998 Plymouth Neon Style review from North America
"Cheap car that was unreliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Headgasket blew at 21000 miles as predicted, $100 deductable, but see other comment.
Sunroof had to be fixed 4 times and it was beginning to fail again, as predicted.
Clutch popped every two months and sounded like it was breaking.
Was starting to make sounds up front when I traded it.
Was leaking oil when traded even though dealership did all work.
Air conditioner could never seem to "catch up" on hot days.
Great gas mileage 40+ or around there on trips.
General comments?
When you have a lemon make lemonaid and then go get a Honda Accord.
Neon seemed to be made from cheap parts.
The engine is a time bomb waiting to explode (headgasket, throttle body, sensors, etc.)
The sunroof was not fun because you would have 20 or so openings before it would break. I went through this 4 different times.
Last, but not least-- No trade in value!! Bought for 14000 dollars and after 4 years got 5000 dollars out of it. (It was babied by two adults and looked great when traded.) All option car.
