2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS review from North America
"Waste of Money.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
We have had the car for 2 1/2 years. We replaced the brakes within the first year, and now they need to be replaced
again! It hums really loud and sounds like it is coming from the windshield wiper when we drive 70 mph. The brakes are what makes me the most upset, I have never owned a car that goes through brakes as much as the Montero.
We tried to trade it in recently for a
Toyota Sequoia, we owe 17,400. on it (we paid 29,000) and it is only worth
11,000. All they would give us to trade was about 10,000. We were assured by the salesman when we bought it that it would hold it's value, which was a concern for me since I was trading a Honda! Well, it looks like we are stuck with it... because it's value is dropping faster than we can pay it off. By the time it's paid for I figure it'll only be worth about 4,000. I would not recommend this SUV as you are literally stuck with it! Wish I would've bought the Toyota 4-runner!!!
General comments?
It looks nice and is a decent family car. Plenty of room for the stroller and luggage.
However, it isn't worth anything and I want a new car!!!
