2000 Lexus LS400 review from North America
"A capable yet dated luxury car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 36,000 miles, seat back and front armrest make squeaky noises. The dealer said that it is caused by normal wear and tear of the leather.
Both front seat cushions slide left/right slightly when the car changes directions. The dealer said it is normal and did not solve the problem.
Minor rattling noise from the lower left cockpit.
General comments?
This car is extremely quiet and smooth. A great highway cruiser.
Although this car is fast, it does not feel that way. The driver is reminded that this is a heavy car with a transmission that responds less than instantaneous.
Audio and A/C controls are too far from the driver. And there is no such controls on the steering wheel.
Audio volume control is way too sensitive.
