1995 Toyota Avalon XLS review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only thing that had to be changed so far, were the brakes.
General comments?
Me, being a senior high school student, wanted to buy a car with luxury, beauty and reliability.
I tried many cars, Buick Century and LeSabre, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Camry, Mitsubishi Gallant, Lexus ES300, but none had all I needed in a one good price.
LeSabre and Century were not reliable. Civic, Camry and Corolla didn't have luxury and weren't beautiful, Gallant was expensive to handle and ES300 was too expensive even the 1995 models.
Until I came by this car. Even though it had 189000 km on it, I still bought it and I don't regret a thing.
The only problem with this car is the wind noise you hear at speeds 80 km/h or higher.
It uses one gallon for each 23 miles, not very fuel efficient, but for it's size it is OK.
Before you buy it, check the brakes. Don't worry about timing belt, some of the models, like mine, have a chain instead.
