1984 Nissan 300ZX Coupe Turbo review from Australia and New Zealand
"High Performance At A Price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the engine 2 weeks after I bought it, upgraded from 2 litre Turbo to 3 litre Turbo a must if you want more power. The upgrade was unplanned, the timing belt in the engine went and caused all valves to bend, so it was a expensive learning curve considering a service would have saved the engine. COMMON PROBLEM ROUND 100,000KM.
Power Steering Pin and Rack required replacing as the power steering was cutting in and out, apparently one of the seals had broken COMMON PROBLEM ROUND 100,000KM.
Electrical Faults of various description.
General comments?
My particular car is immaculate it is set of with a set of big mags with really wide tyres and it is lowered with king springs, so visually it looks awesome, Secondly my model is a hard top turbo, and I have one thing to say about a car with a turbo, they fly, but cost a fair bit of cash, my recomendation only buy a 300zx turbo if you can afford to run it. Mine has a T3 turbo running boost at 6psi. With the level of boost I have I can easily clean up a nice skyline. The only real problem with the 300zx is that the cabin is not overly big and when you try to fit 4 people in it the poor back people are squashed so it really is only a 2 seater. The car design is to die for and easily outshines any of the other models around this year, a Cordia Turbo dos'nt compare and nore does anything else I have ever seen. A 20 year old car that goes bloody fast, a excellent buy.
