1998 Ford Escort ZX2 review from North America
"A good pizza delivery machine!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator went out at about 70K.
I've gone through 2 sets of drive axles.
I feel like I have to change wheel bearings almost as frequently as I change the oil...
An idler pulley that the timing belt rides on disintegrated at about 90K.
General comments?
I've been delivering pizzas in this car for 3 years off an on. While I have had some problems with the front end, I suppose this is understandable due to the amount of abuse it gets.
The starter is holding up well!!
Overall I am pleased with this car. For a four cylinder, it was quit spunky in it's younger days. It's feeling a bit weak now, and is in bad need of a tune up.
It has the stock audio system with a 6 CD changer, which I am very pleased with.
This car is almost perfect for pizza delivery. It's small, quick
highly maneuverable, and easy to see out of from any angle.
