1996 Pontiac Grand Prix SE review from North America
"How much does that part cost?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Hmmm... where to start.
The first thing that went wrong with the car was, it needed brake pads a week after I purchased the car.
Then over the course of 2 years now, since I have owned it, the following parts needed replacing:
1. Front Strut Cylinders
2. Front Strut Mounts
3. Rear Struts
4. 2 Sets of Front and Rear Brake Pads
5. Front and Rear Brake Rotors
6. Both mufflers
7. 2 Alternators
8. Battery
9. Intake Manifold Gasket
10. 1 Fuel Injector
11. Windshield Washer Pump
12. Driver Side Door Handle
13. 1 Fuel Line Splice Kit
14. 1 Set of tires (need to replace them again soon)
15. Need to replace soon, Directional Switch on steering column
16. 1 Ball Joint.
This doesn't include all the minor normal maintenance items that have been done, fixed, and/or replaced; IE:
oil changes, spark plugs, plug wires, air filters, wiper blades, fuel filter, etc.
General comments?
The car's body style does look pretty good, and it was one of the reasons why I purchased the car.
Looks can be deceiving.
Although the car does perform well, when it is working properly.
I wouldn't purchase another Grand Prix again.
I understand that car parts do wear out, but I do believe this is extremely excessive.
With everything that has gone with this car, I ask myself all the time, "Why did I trade in my Jeep?"
