1979 Volvo 245 L review from Australia and New Zealand
"Family reliability, safety and economy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Minor exhaust repairs were needed 5 years ago. Rust was cut out 3 years ago, and a couple of rust spots have appeared this year. Worked out that we'd only spent approx.$200/year on repairs since purchased. I travel a minimum of 200ks/week and spend $35/week on leaded fuel (currently priced @$1.01/litre.) Small electrical problems such as 'back' turn on the ignition, shorts on indicators, deterioration on door handles and door hinges.
General comments?
This is not a performance car! But, it.
Has proved to be reliable and cheap to.
Run. We have also sourced non-genuine.
Volvo parts (much cheaper!) The boot.
Space is humongous and I feel safe.
Transporting the kids and learner-
Driver. The classic Volvo jokes are.
Relentless, but safety, reliability and.
Economy have the last laugh.
