2001 Ford Mondeo Zetec review from UK and Ireland

Several electrical faults have occurred with the car. As you will agree from below, a little too many since I have only had the car for 8 months and have only covered 4000 miles.

Several times on high speed roads, the battery light has illuminated. Twice this was followed by the car just shutting down and restoring factory settings. According to Ford, nothing is wrong with the car.

Electrics shut down and you can't get in. This is also a regular occurrance. Still Ford say there is nothing wrong.

My Mondeo is currently on its 3rd CD/radio as they keep seizing. Still Ford say nothing is wrong.

There was also one time I started my car and whatever button you pushed or if you opened the door, it wouldn't do the requested operation and it would make a bleep noise and flash all indicators twice.

I'm planning on taking it back at the weekend.

Excluding the electrical problems, the car is wonderful.

The main features I enjoy are the very comfortable ergonomically designed seats, which are very comfy and the amount of room in the cabin for the driver and all passengers. The boot is enormous too! Also loads of cool gadgets like a CD holder/armrest and an in-the-roof sunglasses holder.

Its overall speed is very acceptable, but acceleration of any form above 60mph is seriously lacking.
