2000 Mercury Mystique LS review from North America
"An absolute nightmare!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
In six months of ownership, the following problems have occurred:
(1) Check engine light comes on and goes off all the time,
(2) Catalytic Converter had to be replaced,
(3) Intake valve had to be replaced after one month of ownership,
(4) Oxygen sensor has been reset FOUR TIMES in six months.
General comments?
I have never in my life owned such a terrible car. Unfortunately my husband was lured by the leather seats and the sunroof, and now we are stuck with an absolute LEMON of a car. My husband and I have both owned Toyotas for the past ten years. Neither of those vehicles in ten years had as many mechanical problems as this car has had in only six months. The dealership has been less than accommodating. They say, "Oh well... you bought a used car now you have to deal with it." Keep in mind, the salesperson is a relative of mine.
American Made? Never again.
