1985 Holden Commodore VK review from Australia and New Zealand
"A poor mans luxury car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The tri-matic transmission blew at 125,000 km, but did extremely well as was given a hard time.
The power steering has leaked twice, once due to a leaky boot, and once when the steering rack cracked.
General comments?
Overall, the VK has been a great car, and very easy to modify also...
I have made plenty of modifications such as, black interior, stereo, lights- inside and out, driving lights, 2.5inch exhaust with extractors, leather seats and steering wheel, lowered with club-sport mags, and k&n air filter.
The fuel economy is great, in a straight line it takes roughly 8ltrs/100kms, so about 500kms per tank.
As well as handling well, its looks great being so low, with the pedders suspension all round.
