1998 Vauxhall Vectra LS review from UK and Ireland
"I would rather leave it parked at home"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well where do I start...
First the cam shaft sensor (£150)
Idle Control Valve (£125)
ABS Control Unit (£600)
Cranshaft sensor.
Then the idle control valve again, dealer suggested an oil trap to be fitted as a remedy (£250).
Every single gaskit possible has been replaced and there is oil still leaking (£300).
Remote central locking, don't even bother pressing the button, it is quicker to put the key in and open the door.
Rattling and crackling of dash and seats, it is honestly very poor for a car of its age size and look.
Drinks petrol like no bodys business.
General comments?
The new model, I bet it is just a fancy shape and nothing more, vectras have so many sensors and electronics in place, it has become a money making web for them. At the flick of a light thay suggest a diagnostics be carried out (40 quid a go).
I will never buy one again, am seeking for an AUDI, BMW or maybe VW TDI.
No body take this personaly, but the Germans build the best cars.
