1987 Peugeot 309 GE review from UK and Ireland
"50ukp bargain, had my money's worth already.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing as of yet. apart from a few little niggles:
Although the mileometer doesn't work properly wrong digits turn round, speedometer a bit wonky. Any suggestions on mile reading fault?
Oil leak seems to 'spit' out of the oil dipstick.
General comments?
I acquired this car for £50 with a full MOT and 2 months tax, seemed like a bargain at the time and still seems like a bargain now.
Covered approx 1500 miles (I think) since purchase 2 months ago.
Seems to be rather noisy above 65MPH and below 40MPH in 4th I have to turn the radio up to drown out the noise. And if I want a conversation with a passenger, a megaphone would be of use.
A very comfortable car, loads of room, quite economical - about 35MPG (then again not to sure cos of faulty mile reading), but I travel 50 miles a day in it on the motorway and it only costs me £20 in a week for petrol (cheaper than public transport (beat that Mr Prescott) at £46 a week).
Going to go for a service next week, seems like it's not had one for some time.
