2000 Audi A4 TDi SE review from UK and Ireland
"Mind blowing for a turbo-diesel"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has actually gone wrong as yet. In it's previous life it was a lease car having done 100,000 miles - I have a print out from the lease company which showed all work carried out.
Apart from usual timing belts and servicing, amazingly the only things that were needed were the brake discs, wiper blades and two sets of tyres.
General comments?
Very tight rear leg room and the boot is small. You tend to be pushing things in the boot toward the rear seats most of the time.
The spare parts and maintenance is very pricey eg spare key £170.
There is no heated front windscreen considering I bought an SE version, is this right?
On a good note the brakes are superb and excellent road-hugging handling. Excellent economy and beefy pickup on the 110bhp TDI SE. I think someone at Audi has sat down and thought about what makes a good car, ie looks superb, smooth and comfortable + little driver adds, ie on-board computer etc etc etc.
