1988 Ford Scorpio review from UK and Ireland
"Luxurious motoring at a bargain basement price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter motor packed up at about 113000 miles.
Some things don't work IE: electric rear seats, rear windows, and heated screens.
I can live with that, they are no problem.
General comments?
Extremely quick, I also have a sports car about the same age as the Scorpio, and the 0-60 time is only about a second better.
With the cruise control, it's the nearest I've felt to being a passenger in a car when I've been sat behind the wheel.
On a run, it will do 30mpg+, I am averaging 31-33mpg on a daily 110mile commute.
Extremely comfortable seats.
First car I've owned with an auto box, but very happy with it.
For a little over £100 it was a definite bargain, has already paid for itself.
