1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from North America
"This car is a serious LEMON!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver's side power window malfunctioned.
Cruise control went out.
Heater fan switch went out.
Driver's side outside mirror fell off.
Numerous bulbs burned out.
Brakes done at 37000 miles.
Steering gear box went out at 48000.
Front coil spring broke.
Battery terminal pulled out, 40000 miles.
Front brake calipers replaced, 57000 miles.
There have been so many things gone wrong, these are just the ones I remember.
General comments?
When the car has been drivable, I have enjoyed doing so. I drive a lot of highway miles and the car works well for that purpose. Many of the repairs were done under warranty. Although no monetary hardship occurred, work time lost was quite high. Since the warranty ran out I have put in over $2000 of my own money (less than 2 years). The car has less than 60,000 on it. I have NEVER put so much money into a new car for repairs in my life. Unfortunately, other commitments make it impossible to sell this car for another 3 years. I'd sell it if I could. Pontiac Customer Assistance is a joke, nothing, but talk.
