2001 Renault Espace review from UK and Ireland
"Don't have one over 50,000 miles!! you have been warned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electrical faults, 0ver 50,000 miles
battery, 60,000
radio,
door seals, from 40,000
clutch, 60,000
brakes,
steering. intermittent. Never resolved!
Minor faults up to about 50,000 miles then fault after fault kept me at the garage on a regular basis.
Drivers seat was uncomfy from day one and is now torn.
General comments?
The car looks good. An impressive well designed people carrier, worthy of a good reputation.
The faults which developed from 50,000 miles were often and annoying. A car of this age, whatever the mileage should not break down or have such annoying problems. Regular servicing did not alleviate the problems.
Not anything like enough luggage space.
Fuel consumption high. (petrol)
