1995 Ford Escort LX sport coupe review from North America
"Reliable, well-built and engineered car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brakes worn out.
Front tyre bursted.
RPM meter, Fuel gauge and Engine temperature meter malfunction.
Engine makes unnecessary noises when idling.
Headlamp malfunction.
Windsheild wiper tank lid cracked.
Fuel tank door does not hold closed.
Suspension doesn't feel OK.
Automatic transmission changeovers not smooth.
Stereo speaker in the front make horrible vibrative noises (improper mount).
General comments?
Engine still has a lot of pep. Accelarates very well initially, but later on the curve flattens. Quite heavy and holds to the road on freeways and drives comfortably at 60mph. Overall a very well built car, going by the mileage it had under the hood. Amazing reliability. It never lets you down. The only time I had to jumpstart was when I parked in a street for 7 days and over a foot of ice covered the car for atleast 3 days!
