1978 Datsun 200B Station Wagon review from Australia and New Zealand
"Treat her nice and she'll return the favour"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car always overheated (it was an ex-pilot driver's car, hence the high Km's). We never fixed the problem.
The clutch wore at 323000. Sold the car before I fixed it.
The car burned heaps of oil (about 1 litre every month). Again, never fixed the problem (not properly anyway).
The car had rust in a few places (the roof edges and the sills mainly).
This car quickly went through 2 diffs just before I got it (because of excessive hooning by my brother).
General comments?
Our car was a bad example because of its earlier life (ex-pilot driver's car). These cars are good (ie;reliable) if you look after them and don't hoon the hell out of them.
