1996 Holden Commodore VS review from Australia and New Zealand
"Generally pleasing production vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Smoky brakes down Mt Buller, had to come down in 1st in auto!!!
Seat belt driver's side slackened up.
Overheated transmission at 270,000kms.
General comments?
Done 109,000kms in almost 3 years that I've owned it. Mainly done country Kays. When the tranny overheated and spewed, the mechanics said I needed a new one - have since done 51,000km and the mechanic avoids me at every cost.
Yeah OK, it's got the usual probs, but the consumption I'm getting is nothing, but remarkable. On my last trip from Melbourne to Perth, I averaged 7.8L/100kms!!! In the city about 10.5L/100Kms. No burnouts, can't afford wasting money on rubber.
Runs on LPG too and am glad it's down to 34.5c/L :-)
On the whole, a happy customer.
Wishlist? Umm, extractors, air intake improvement? decent shockies.
