1993 Renault 19 16v review from UK and Ireland
"Very fun and enjoyable car!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Heater does not work in the car (it has been back to the garage twice to be fixed).
Radiator sprung a leak, that cost me £110 to fix.
Water or oil on the spark plugs so the car would not start at all.
A sir clip broke on the drive shaft,
I got no drive, but I could put it into any gear without the clutch and the speedo went up (weird).
After speaking to someone that had a 19 16v I found out it was common thing to go on them (£3 each from renault).
Boot does not lock with central locking.
On board computer screen is damaged could not read the numbers correctly.
General comments?
Generally a nice car bit rough as the suspension is so low to the ground.
I think my car has a lot of money spent on it e.i
K&N air filter
De-cat exhaust with twin outlet
chipped (revs up to 7 1/2 revs)
grooved and vented disc's all around.
I am getting about 14MPG so it drinks the petrol.
If I'm on the motorway I can get 20MPG so it is very poor on petrol.
This car is very good if you have another car like me and you don't use it all the time.
I have spent a lot of money trying to keep the car in good condition, but I think I'm going to cut my losses while the thing still running and sell it.
I would, but another one, but I would have to rebuild the thing from scratch.
