1992 Subaru Loyale review from North America
"All in all, comfortable, if not pretty, and reliable transportation"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing: I only had this car for six months.
General comments?
This car was in great shape when I got it at 143000 miles.
Unfortunately, an Isuzu delivery truck rear-ended me last week, and the car was written off as a technical total.
Like all Loyales, it was prone to rust.
I have never driven or ridden in a more comfortable car. The only thing it lacks is cruise control for long trips. The accelerator pedal requires constant pressure to keep speed and this can get somewhat uncomfortable after an hour.
The car started on the coldest day of the year.
More often than should have been healthy, I forgot the E-brake was on before rolling away. For the number of times I did this, the E-brake stood up very well.
The car is a little noisy.
But it heats up great in the winter.
