1993 Geo Storm Base review from North America
"A well made and fun to boot around vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced radiator/hoses/thermostat immediately upon ownership.
Replaced heater core at 140k.
Timing belt went at 150k.
Replaced water pump and cam seals same time as timing belt.
Replaced radiator (defective) again 8 months later. Beware of plastic tank radiators.
Parts are a little scarce. Similar to Isuzu Impluse and Asuna Sunfire.
Wheel bearings might need to be replaced soon.
General comments?
This is one toss-able pocket-rocket. Handling is precise for this class of car.
Gas mileage is superb.
Could use a little more power, but that only gets you in trouble.
Noticeable power loss when A/C and
defroster on simultaneously.
Manual transmission has good positive shifting and clutch feel.
Surprisingly well mannered in bad weather when not pushed.
Lots of room in the engine compartment for the do-it-yourself person. The many tips and tricks on the web from loyal owners make this car very good to own.
