1994 GMC Jimmy SL review from North America
"Good reliable multi-purpose truck!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 90000 miles the starter and battery was replaced.
95000 miles had complete tune up.
120000 miles replaced the gas tank due to rust and fuel pump.
128000 miles replaced fuel pump again (under warranty Napa part)
140000 miles replaced brakes and rotors.
150000 miles replaced exhaust system due to rust.
155000 replaced that Napa fuel pump again!
160000 miles new shocks.
193000 miles the ball-joints have finally failed.
193000 miles the body has finally rusted through.
200000 miles I might still be driving this thing.
General comments?
The 195 h/p vortec has been a brute!
The EGR valve acts up every once in a while and check engine light comes on. (fixed by rapping on the thing)
This truck goes through anything!
Tows my boat well.
Very reliable even at almost 200m miles.
Seats still are not worn through yet.
The biggest problem with this truck so far was the aftermarket fuel pumps!
Starts even at 25 below zero!!!
I would not hesitate to buy a new one from GMC, however $30,000 is just too much!!!
