1988 Ford Tempo GL review from North America
"Definition of mediocre"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The alternator circuits fried.
The oil pump went bad.
There was a ratty sound coming from the gearbox.
Brake warning light for the parking brake refused to go out.
Brakes needed replaced frequently.
Car stalled and the battery was totally dead without warning.
General comments?
Transmission shift patterns caused a lack of performance.
It shifted into drive at 20 MPH.
I wish it had a 4-speed automatic.
The revolutions per minute were quite high at 70 miles per hour.
Car was too noisy.
