1996 Volkswagen Passat TDI review from North America
"You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The driver's window regulator has failed twice.
A replacement Passat diesel has not been made available in North America since 1997.
General comments?
Quite cheap to run, I habitually get 45+ mpg (US).
I wish I had not gotten the sunroof as I could use the extra inch or two of headroom.
I love this machine - it bridges the gap between high tech VW's and nice simple VW's.
