1958 Morris Minor 1000 review from UK and Ireland
"Best 50 quid I ever spent"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought it with a real oil-burner engine, soon replaced. In the last week of the old engine I had a lot of fun, it revved SO easily!!
Clutch linkage broke one time, fixed with parts from a scrapper.
Ever try to do the seals in the master-cylinder? Nightmare!! You had to lever the torsion bar out of the way to remove the mounting bolts.
Poor old thing died very quickly of terminal rust... I blame the North Sea air.
General comments?
This was my first car, and I loved it. Maybe slow, but you could throw it around corners with predictable results, I could do the 10 miles from my favourite watering-hole in 10 minutes on country roads.
